RED WIGGLER WORMS
Once established, red worms have the ability to eat about half of their weight per DAY!
That means just 1lb of worms has the ability to eat 3.5lbs of waste EACH WEEK!
Please note that worms are mailed on Monday or Tuesday. Orders placed by 9 am on Monday will be filled that week. All orders after that time will be filled the following week. This may mean that it may take up to a week for your order to ship. This ensures that they will get there by the end of the week, so they get to you as quickly as possible, while the worms suffer as little as possible.
MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS CORRECT!
IF WORMS DIE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT AT HOME WHEN YOUR DELIVERY ARRIVES, OR IF YOU PROVIDE THE WRONG ADDRESS, THEY WILL NOT BE REPLACED.
If your worms arrive and they are dead, make sure to email me WITHIN 12 HOUR. If you do not email me within 12 HOURS, I will not be able to replace them.
Worms do not do well in temperatures LESS than 40F and MORE than 80F. If they are left if these conditions for extended periods, expect that you may see some death of your worms.
Worms will come shipped in a small box. They will be in dirt, but they will be hungry and thirsty. You may notice that they are not very active, but they will move when poked (which I don't recommend), they are just a little stunned from their journey.
Make sure to bring them in immediately when you receive your order. Make sure to have a prepared space for them with moist dirt and some food. The dirt should be about as wet as a rung out sponge.
You will find many food guides out there on what to feed red wigglers, and most of them follow a vegan diet. You will find that once they are established, and in an environment that is about 70 degrees Fahrenheit, that they will eat approx. half of their weight per day.
That means 1lb of worms can eat up to 3.5lbs of vegan waste each week!
In exchange, not only are you reducing your eco footprint, but in exchange for your food, the worms will provide you with "gardeners gold", in the shape of the most rich dirt full of castings and good bacteria's.
