Wisconsin State Department of Agriculture and Markets Inspector Badge

Wisconsin Department of Agriculture & Markets Inspector badge made in Sterling Silver by Schwaab and marked on reverse with Sterling at ten oclock and Schwaab at three oclock. I imagine an inspector would look for spoiled food products, unsanitary conditions and inaccurate scales. This badge has a Fielding catch. Size 45 x 64 mm. My guess is that this badge was made in the early 1900's.
This badge is obsolete and well over a century old and does not carry any authority with it. It is purely a very rare historical collectors item.
